Besides my strange night in the red light district, I enjoyed Amsterdam. It’s a very nice city and I had a great time. I think for the sake of my future and the fact that I don’t know who’s reading this, I shouldn’t say too much about my time there, but lets just say I truly experienced Amsterdam.
I got back to Paris on the 20th and spent the weekend and the last couple days just hanging out with Tristan, the friend who I’ve been staying with in Paris, and recovering from the last month.
On Monday I decided I want to end my incredible journey with a bang, so I booked a last minute train ticket to Barcelona for this weekend.
Also, as of June 20th, I’m officially in Europe illegally since I don’t have a visa. I would’ve liked to fly to Barca, but I didn't want to risk getting kicked out of Europe just yet.
So Thursday morning I took a 6.5 hour train ride from Paris to Barcelona for my last adventure of the last 5 months.
I arrived in Barcelona around 9pm so I just took it easy for the rest of the night. The next morning, I went out early and saw all of the beautiful Gaudi architecture. I wish there had been more buildings with his designs because I really loved them. I then walked for about 30 minutes to the Sagrada Familia church which is absolutely the most beautiful church I have ever seen. Unfortunately they’re currently refacing it and I personally think that the refacing is destroying the gothic feeling of the church. Either way, it’s still incredible.
After the visit to the church, I went back to my hostel and met up with my Australian friend Tony who’s the one who invited me to Barcelona in the first place. We met another group of Australians and we all went out together later that night.
The next day, our same group spent most of the day at the Barceloneta beach. There were thousands of people there but it was still relaxing. Today, I went to the park Güell which is inspired by Gaudi. It’s a beautiful park and it has a great view over the city.
I’m now sitting on my last train of my trip heading back to Paris. I’m staying at my friend Tristan’s house for the next two days until I come home on Tuesday :(
